Work Performed:
Performs a wide variety of production and/or experimental assembly operations on all parts of the aircraft. Makes necessary layouts, fabricates and fits component parts; installs, fits and adjusts all types of parts and assemblies where difficult and diversified installations, alignments or adjustments are necessary; makes difficult repairs and alterations per design changes, removing the required parts and making replacements. The incumbent may be required to work from blueprints or project sketches and templates without the use of jigs or fixtures and should be able to perform a majority of the assembly operations on all parts of the aircraft. May be required to do riveting on sub-assemblies or installations, which he is working on. Performs all around landing gear installations and adjustments.

Aircraft mechanics’ tools, wrenches, hammers, pliers, levels, clamps, rigging equipment, drills, shears, templates, fixtures, files and a variety of measuring instruments.
