The Logistics Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all logistics operations across the site. This role ensures that all logistics activities are performed efficiently and meet the organizations objectives for quality, cost, safety, and delivery. The Operations Manager supervises the logistics teams, collaborates with other departments, and ensures compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily logistics operations, ensuring performance targets for quality, safety, and delivery are met.
• Develop and implement logistics strategies to improve efficiency and meet customer expectations.
• Lead, develop, and manage a team of Logistics Supervisors and other logistics staff.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the success of logistics operations, taking corrective actions as necessary.
• Ensure all logistics processes comply with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, driving initiatives to improve processes, reduce costs, and enhance operational performance.
• Maintain inventory management systems and optimize warehouse space and resources.
• Collaborate with other departments (e.g., production, engineering, and quality) to ensure seamless logistics operations.
• Develop and manage departmental budgets, focusing on cost control and resource allocation.
• Participate in operational reviews and meetings to ensure the alignment of team goals with company objectives.
• Provide training, coaching, and mentoring to logistics staff, ensuring they are equipped to meet performance expectations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree in logistics, supply chain management, business, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in logistics and supply chain management.
• Minimum of 3 years in a leadership role in logistics or manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of logistics operations, including warehouse management, inventory control, and transportation.
• Experience with ERP systems; SAP experience preferred.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Proficient in Google Suite (Gmail, Sheets, Docs, Drive, Calendar).
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with logistics software and tools.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Customer-focused with a commitment to quality and service.
• Forklift experience or willingness to obtain certification is helpful.
Working Conditions:
• Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Frequent walking, standing, bending, and climbing stairs/ladders.
• Exposure to warehouse and manufacturing environments.
• Flexible scheduling including evenings or weekends based on operational needs.
