Business Development Manager - Airlife (Houston, TX)
Job Description:

Join a Mission That Saves Lives

HCA AirLife is seeking a Business Development Manager who is passionate about building strong healthcare partnerships and advancing access to critical care transport.

In this role, you will serve as a key liaison between air medical operations and the regional healthcare community, helping hospitals, EMS agencies, and emergency responders understand and access the life-saving capabilities of HCA AirLife.

This is not a traditional sales role. Success in this position comes from building trust, strengthening clinical partnerships, and improving patient access to advanced medical transport. Serving as a strategic liaison between partner organizations and regional healthcare stakeholders including hospital leadership, emergency departments, trauma programs, EMS agencies, fire departments, dispatch centers, clinical teams, and community organizations, the Business Development Manager builds and maintains strong, trust-based relationships. The role focuses on strengthening referral networks, enhancing partner engagement, and ensuring stakeholders understand clinical capabilities and operational reliability. Success in this position is driven by credibility, collaboration, and the development of long-term strategic partnerships rather than traditional sales tactics.

What Youll Do

Relationship Management and Business Development

Collaborate with internal teams and partner organizations to develop and maintain a structured, process-driven approach to outreach and relationship management.

Conduct regular in-person visits with hospitals, EMS agencies, fire departments, dispatch centers, and other stakeholders to build and sustain strong relationships.

Strengthen existing partnerships while identifying and developing new opportunities for service growth.

Execute regional outreach strategies to increase awareness, engagement, and utilization of air medical services.

Maintain effective cross-functional communication with operations, clinical leadership, spaneting, and executive teams.

Develop a comprehensive understanding of partner capabilities, specialties, and referral pathways to support strategic collaboration.

Monitor spanet dynamics, including transport trends, hospital service changes, competitor activity, and EMS system developments.

Achieve established KPIs related to outreach activity, partner engagement, and regional growth initiatives.

Provide direction, coordination, and oversight for the Business Development Representative(s) assigned to the region, ensuring alignment with outreach strategies, and performance expectations.

Track, analyze, and report outcomes related to outreach efforts and partnership development.

Coordinate spaneting materials, outreach resources, and engagement tools to support business development efforts.

Plan and coordinate meetings, presentations, and outreach events, ensuring appropriate logistical support.

Serve as a strategic liaison between healthcare partners and internal teams to support alignment and communication.

Attend hospital, EMS, fire, dispatch, educational, public relations, and community events, including evenings and weekends as needed.

Territory & Partner Engagement Strategy

Manage an assigned geographic territory and develop targeted engagement strategies aligned with organizational goals.

Identify and prioritize key healthcare stakeholders, including hospital administrators, emergency department leaders, trauma coordinators, and EMS leadership.

Focus outreach efforts on high-impact programs such as trauma, stroke, cardiac, and regional EMS systems.

Support the integration of air medical services into partner transfer and referral workflows.

Identify opportunities to improve access to critical care transport across the regional healthcare network.

Education & Clinical Outreach

Coordinate and support educational opportunities for hospitals, EMS agencies, and emergency responders.

Partner with clinical leadership to support presentations, training initiatives, and continuing education events.

Participate in EMS conferences, healthcare meetings, and community engagement activities.

Represent the organization as a professional ambassador within the healthcare and public safety community.
