Pratt & Whitney Commercial Engines division has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Director, Market Analytics focused on Economic Analysis. This assignment may be for you if you want to flex your analytical skills amongst a talented team of analysts that provides practical insights to inform senior leadership and enhance decision-making for current and future engine programs.
What You Will Do:
In this role, you will serve as the focal for Economic Analysis within Market Analytics, supporting spaneting & sales activity as well as future product development for Commercial Engines.
Prepare and present specific, complex analyses of aircraft / engine operational, technical and economic requirements to demonstrate the benefits of P&W products relative to the competitors’ products for the purpose of assisting in the spaneting and sale of P&W products.
Provide economic benchspaning in support of current and future product development studies, interfacing with appraisers and airframe OEM’s.
Analyze airline financials, fleet and route networks as needed to support sales activities.
Synthesize studies into clear and concise messages for senior leadership and customers.
Assess ownership and cash operating costs from the airline perspective. Comparisons may be engine versus engine on the same airframe or compare across several aircraft models.
Establish good working relations across P&W functional groups to gather the data needed, such as aircraft performance and engine maintenance costs, to conduct the economic analyses.
Manage vendor data subscriptions and relationships with researchers.
Maintain the foundational data tables and models for cost elements – e.g. crew, fuel, maintenance, environmental, initial provisioning, ownership, spare engines, and landing and navigation fees.
Occasional domestic and international travel is required (<10) in support of sales activities and targeted conferences.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Bachelors Degree and 12 years or Master’s Degree and 10 years of experience in the aviation industry, in technical and/or commercial roles
Experience creating and analyzing complex sets of data in various platforms including but not limited to Excel, Alteryx and Tableau.
Understanding of airline financials, aircraft cost elements, operational lifecycle and asset appraisal methods.
Qualifications We Prefer:
Advanced Degree in Engineering or Business / MBA
Understanding of engine design and maintenance principles
Aviation appraisal experience.
Ability to make reasoned judgements when information is limited
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills and ability to multi-task for the purpose of delivering presentations across all levels of internal leadership
Work independently and in a collaborative environment for the purpose of driving business results and working cross functionally.
Enthusiastic and outgoing, detail oriented and passionate about quality work
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite. Advanced Excel proficiency is required. Programming experience with Visual Basic is a plus.
Experience with Alteryx and Tableau is also a plus.

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. The salary range for this role is 147,000 USD - 295,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
