Morson Edge are recruiting for an experienced Aircraft Technician Supervisor to lead maintenance teams supporting fast jet trainer and ex-military aircraft.
This is a senior, hands-on supervisory role within a safety-critical Aerospace environment, responsible for ensuring high-quality maintenance delivery, regulatory compliance, and effective team leadership across maintenance, repair and inspection activities.
The Role
You will lead and coordinate aircraft technicians delivering scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on fast jet trainer platforms. The role requires strong technical credibility, clear leadership, and the ability to manage teams working to tight operational schedules while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Supervision

Lead, supervise and support aircraft technicians carrying out maintenance activities

Allocate tasks, monitor progress and ensure work is completed safely, correctly and on time

Provide on-the-job technical guidance, coaching and support

Deliver regular team briefings, toolbox talks and safety updates
Maintenance Oversight

Oversee scheduled and unscheduled maintenance in line with approved technical data

Carry out independent checks, inspections and quality reviews where authorised

Ensure removed parts and systems are made safe, controlled and documented
Compliance & Documentation

Ensure maintenance activities comply with regulatory frameworks (MAA, Part 145, internal procedures)

Verify the accuracy of work cards, logs, technical records and digital systems

Promote a strong safety, quality and compliance culture within the team
Operational Coordination

Liaise with engineering, planning and logistics teams to support aircraft availability

Assist with forecasting manpower, tooling and material requirements

Escalate technical issues, constraints or delays to senior engineering leadership
Training & Development

Support technician training, competency development and progression

Monitor performance and contribute to appraisals and development planning
Essential Requirements

Proven experience as an Aircraft Technician on fast jet trainer and/or ex-military aircraft

Demonstrable experience supervising technical teams in an aviation MRO or military environment

Current Security Clearance (SC)

Full right to work in the UK

Strong understanding of aircraft maintenance procedures, safety standards and documentation

Ability to lead, motivate and manage teams in a fast-paced environment

High attention to detail with strong communication and organisational skills
Desirable

Experience using aviation ERP / MRO planning systems

Previous authorisations (mechanical, avionics, inspection, certifying or supervisory)

Knowledge of life-limited component management and MRO workflows

Familiarity with military airworthiness regulations and technical publications
