✈️ ABOUT THE ROLEJoin a highly skilled maintenance team responsible for heavy maintenance, structural repair, refurbishment, and full rebuilds of S‑64 heavy‑lift helicopters—aircraft widely used in firefighting, construction, and global heavy‑lift operations.
As a Structures Mechanic, you’ll perform hands‑on sheet metal and structural work including riveting, bending, cutting, countersinking, and installing major components. You’ll support everything from routine heavy checks to full fleet rebuilds using stored airframes, in‑house inventory, and fabricated systems.
This is a long‑term opportunity with a stable organization operating under major forest service contracts and a multi‑year production schedule.
✅ WHAT YOU’LL DO- Perform heavy maintenance, repair, and refurbishment on S‑64 helicopters
- Complete repairs using blueprints and technical drawings
- Rivet, countersink, drill, cut, bend, and shape aircraft sheet metal
- Install structural components and assemblies
- Participate in full S‑64 rebuild projects, fabricating or installing systems as required
- Assist with structural upgrades and fleet enhancement programs
- Work assignments based on skill sets (fabrication, structural install, etc.)
🛠️ ESSENTIAL SKILLS- Strong skills in aircraft structures and sheet metal repair
- Experience with helicopter or rotorcraft structural maintenance
- Ability to interpret blueprints, repair manuals, and structural drawings
- Skilled in drilling, cutting, bending, countersinking, and riveting
- Comfortable performing a structures/sheet‑metal test on Day 1
⭐ ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS- Must bring basic hand tools
- A&P license preferred (not required)
- 4+ years MRO experience strongly preferred (especially for high level mechanics)
- Candidates from aircraft structure manufacturing or repair backgrounds welcome

🏗️ WORK ENVIRONMENT & SCHEDULE- Work primarily inside a well‑equipped aircraft hangar and shop
- Headquarters includes engineering, administration, machining & quality departments
- Standard Shift:
- Mon–Thurs: 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Fri: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- Second Shift Option (after 3 months):
- 3:00 PM – 2:00 AM (4x10s)
- Second shift is newly established — leadership in place and growing the team
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Los Angeles, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $42.00 - $52.00/hr.
