Northrop Grumman Space Systems seeks an experienced Launch Systems Integration Engineer to join our team in our Gilbert, AZ location.
The Launch Systems Integration (LSI) Engineer will integrate Northrop Grumman Space Vehicles onto the selected launch vehicle, coordinate processing at the launch base, and conduct launch and ascent operations. In addition, the LSI Engineer will manage the interface between Northrop Grumman and the other launch campaign stakeholders, including the Launch Vehicle Contractor (LVC), the Launch Range (Range), launch base processing facilities, data and communication services, day of launch tracking, and other participants.
Duties include:
Supports mission integration with various Launch Service providers executing the launch mission integration process.
Works on all aspects of launch from initial planning meetings through launch operations and Day of Launch
Provides direction to all mission working groups, to include: mission integration, ground operations, flight operations, planning/execution, and Day-of-Launch
Provides technical services for mission program reviews, integrated schedule development/management, rehearsal support, and daily status reporting
Develops launch mission planning tasks and develops key program documentation
Oversee execution team of launch integration engineers
Guides the development of all satellite to launch vehicle interface requirements
Reviews and provides technical evaluations of key mission documents to include: Interface Requirements Documents (IRDs), Interface Control Documents, (ICDs), and Launch base requirements and procedures
Reviews contractor statement of works (SOWs) and technical evaluation of contractor proposals
Develops, prepares, and delivers documentation and coordinates execution for major Launch Readiness Reviews
Tracks all requirements verification documentation in execution of the launch campaign.
Develops and reviews technical assessments and presentations for senior leadership reviews
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in a STEM related field and 12 years of related experience, a Masters Degree in a STEM related field and 10 years of related experience, or a PhD in a STEM related field and 7 years of related experience.
- Must have US Citizenship with active or current Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility
- Minimum 9 years space launch experience
- Knowledge of satellite Systems Engineering, Design, Integration and Test
- Knowledge of the mission integration process, to include experience working launch vehicle to space vehicle interfaces, including mechanical, electrical, mission analysis, launch and SV environments, ground operations, space vehicle transportation and processing, launch readiness, mission interface verification between LV and SV
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships with other government agencies and mission partners
- Demonstrated ability to work with, guide, and collaborate across a multi-organizations and multi-disciplined team to deliver integrated solutions and mutually beneficial outcome
Salary Range: $147,700.00 - $221,500.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current spanet conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
