What you will be doing as a Quality Assurance Engineer:
In this role, you can expect to be a trusted quality expert driving continuous improvement across products, processes, and regulatory environments. You’ll partner closely with teams across Fabrication, Assembly, Aircraft Completions and Delivery, and functions like Supply Chain, Engineering, and Customer Service to ensure excellence from build to delivery.
Your responsibilities may include (but are not limited to):
Quality Systems & Documentation: You develop and refine quality systems and procedures to ensure documentation aligns with current practices, regulatory standards, and operational needs across avionics environments
Regulatory Audits & Investigations: You lead and support FAA and government‑requested audits and investigations, documenting findings and driving effective corrective actions to prevent recurrence
Data‑Driven Process Improvement: You analyze quality performance data such as scrap, rejections, defects, and rework to identify trends and support continuous improvement initiatives
Cross‑Functional Collaboration: You partner with production and functional teams to implement quality improvements that enhance efficiency, consistency, and overall avionics performance
Process, Product, & Supplier Audits: You conduct in‑depth audits across production processes, finished products, and external suppliers to ensure compliance and uphold quality standards
What you need to be successful:
- Education & Aviation Quality Experience: Engineering or related STEM degree is required
o In lieu of degree, an Aviation, Business, or technical degree with 5 years of quality aviation experience
o Or an aviation technology associate degree or A&P license with 5 years of quality aviation experience
Quality & Regulatory Standards Knowledge: Working knowledge of AS9100 and ISO9001 standards within regulated aviation environments
Audit & Compliance Experience: Experience conducting internal and external audits, including FAA, government, or compliance‑driven investigations
Analytical & Continuous Improvement Skills: Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities with hands‑on experience using PFMEA, Six Sigma, Lean principles, and statistical techniques
Technical Aptitude: Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
Continuous Improvement & Special Processes Exposure: Familiarity with NADCAP requirements and special processing environments
Communication & Leadership Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively and lead cross‑functional teams
Quality & Project Credentials: ASQ quality certifications and project management experience
