Compensation Range: $100,000 - $125,000
SUMMARY:
Responsible for evaluating existing manufacturing processes and configuring manufacturing systems to reduce costs, increase yield, and improve safety. Provides technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians. Should utilize best practices and statistical methods to improve operational success.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead change management and kaizen initiatives in manufacturing
- Analyze data to identify deficiencies and implement improvements
- Develop innovative solutions.
- Coordinate engineering trials through production departments
- Conduct training for operators and other engineering staff
- Ensure that procedures are maintained and followed
- Provide feedback to management on any quality of performance concerns with supporting engineering staff
- Ensure process control charts are posted weekly in each department (wax, shell, foundry)
- Communicate project results to management.
- Lead process engineering tasks in capital projects, including equipment selection, from concept to installation.
- Work with equipment designers and manufacturing staff to develop more cost-effective methods of manufacturing.
- Provide technical support to Operations.
- Troubleshoot existing processes.
- Advise and implement corrective actions.
- Research and advocate purchase of new manufacturing technology.
- Ensure projects are completed on time and within financial budgets.
SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must comply with all applicable safety requirements, policies and procedures, while maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly work environment.
- Must participate in required training, medical monitoring, safety, and health evaluations and programs.
- Must report any work-related injury or illness immediately to your direct supervisor.
- Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in all designated areas of facility.
- Perform all physical functions* of the position.
- Meet established attendance standards.
- Work overtime as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical, or Materials engineering or related discipline
- 3 to 5 years manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in investment casting
- Working knowledge of statistical analysis
- Strong experience in lean manufacturing

The employee is occasionally required to sit, kneel, stoop, bend, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
