The Boeing Company is looking for an Experienced Software Design and Analysis Engineer to join our Bombers team at Edwards Air Force Base, California. This position supports developmental ground and flight testing of Boeing B-1B Lancer and B-52H Stratofortress programs.
The Boeing Company supports multiple platforms at Edwards AFB in conjunction with 419th Flight Test Squadron, Global Power Bomber Combined Test Force (CTF), working directly with government and industry partners to improve the warfighting capabilities of the United States Air Force.
Edwards AFB is the home of the 412th Test Wing and the 2nd largest Air Force base. The Test Wing oversees base day-to-day operations and provides support for over 10,000 military, federal, civilian, and contract personnel assigned to a 481-square mile installation. The 412th Test Wing plans, conducts, analyzes, and reports on all flight and ground testing of aircraft, weapons systems, software and components as well as modeling and simulation for the U.S. Air Force.
There are three core components for this mission: flying operations, maintenance, and engineering.
Position Responsibilities Include:
Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system
Develops, documents and maintains architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems
Develop software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met
Develops, selects, tailors and deploys software processes, tools and metrics
Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations
Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards
Works under general direction
Understands operating systems hardware/driver interfaces
Troubleshoots hardware/driver compatibility problems within current and prior Windows systems
Interprets existing software code and transform it to modern standards while maintaining functionality
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
3+ years of control systems and data acquisition systems experience
3+ years of experience with software design, development, debugging, and performing software integration and test
3+ years of experience with requirements, design, development, and test of software systems products
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience with instrumentation electrical design
Understand operating systems hardware/driver interfaces with ability to troubleshoot hardware/driver compatibility problems within the current and prior Windows Systems
Ability to deconstruct and interpret existing software code and ability to edit and transform it to modern standards while maintaining functionality
Troubleshooting and interpreting experience with C/C++, C/.NET and Windows operating systems
Experience working in a Test Environment (Aircraft, Flight Line, Laboratory)
Experience with instrumentation and data systems

Summary pay range: $102,850 - $139,150
