Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal / Sr Principal Design Engineer (CPLM Segment SME). This position is located in Roy, UT or Huntsville, AL or Manhattan Beach, CA and supports the Sentinel program.
What You’ll Get To Do: Candidate will Act as a Sentinel Segment SME to support Product Lifecycle Management (Teamcenter) user and tool issues
Triage and prioritize impact of user issues
Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve user issues when possible
Elevate user issues when needed
Follow user support workflow
Learn program and division Principle & Operating Practices to identify correct PLM usage
Work closely with program user community
Act as a liaison across multiple engineering disciplines
Identify potential gap in processes
Identify repeat and common user issues for training opportunities
Participate with key stakeholders to troubleshoot and drive technical resolution for CPLM, Teamcenter and NX related issues associated with the design release process.
Assist with Identification of new CPLM Requirements and CPLM User Acceptance Testing.
Assist with creating and maintaining product documentation in the form of job aids.
Candidate will bring a strong ability to comprehend, implement and adhere to documented processes with an inherent ability to make sound decisions.
Candidate will professionally represent the Strategic Deterrent Systems and Sentinel organizations while interacting with internal and external contacts including suppliers, senior personnel and executive leadership on matters requiring coordination between organizations and sectors.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications: This requisition may be filled at either the Principal Design Engineer level (T03) or Sr Principal Design Engineer level (T04).
Principal Design Engineer:
Bachelors degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of experience, or 3 years of experience with a Masters degree; 4 years of experience with PHD
Sr Principal Design Engineer:
Bachelors degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 8 years of experience, or 6 years of experience with a Masters degree; 4 years of experience with PHD
Required for Both Levels:
Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs
4 years of experience in aerospace system/subsystem product design.
Experience with Siemens NX, and Siemens Teamcenter (1 year minimum).
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office tools.
Experience working in with Geographically distributed teams.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have: Experience with a ticketing workflow system (Service Now)
Experience with Siemens Capital & Xpedition
Experience with CAE analysis tools, familiarity with Strategic Deterrence, Product Lifecycle Management, and cloud computing
Knowledge of System Engineering principles and requirements management
Configuration management experience.
The ability to manage communications with stakeholders through organized processes to ensure that program information is defined, collected, shared, understood, stored and retrieved in a manner that effectively meets program stakeholder needs.
The ability to identify and address program impacts through systematic and proactive approaches to issue and problem resolution that identifies, communicates, monitors and promptly resolves conflicts.
Competence and confidence working under pressure on requests with short turn-around times.
Salary Range: $86,600.00 - $150,500.00Salary Range 2: $107,800.00 - $187,300.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current spanet conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
