About the role:
Qatar Airways are pleased to announce an incredibly exciting opportunity to join our GS & S - Group Safety team as a HSSE Specialist to be based in Doha, Qatar.
As a HSSE Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe, secure and environmentally compliant workplace by implementing and monitoring health, safety, security and environmental (HSSE) policies. You will also be responsible for minimizing risk, ensuring regulatory compliance and foster a proactive HSSE culture by supporting business continuity and sustainability while protecting employees, assets and the environment.
Specific responsibilities for the role include:
Establish, implement and maintain an HSSE management system for QR Technical, including an aviation security component (SeMS).
Develop, implement and monitor compliance with the Tenant Restricted Area (TRA) Security Programme for QR Technical to meet the requirements of the QCAA National Civil Aviation Security Programme (NCASP).
Prepare, revise, and update health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) documents and records.
Responsible for the collection and analysis of HSSE data and preparation of monthly metrics on HSSE performance.
Develop and deliver internal training programs to ensure that employees at all levels understand HSSE requirements and expectations. Supports 3rd party training companies in HSSE related training.
Encourage HSSE awareness and vigilance by all persons working in the Technical facility.
Ensure the completion and regular review of risk assessments for all work areas, equipment and operations.
Assess and mitigate physical security risks to personnel, assets and facilities.
Carry out inspections at the workplace to ensure compliance with all relevant HSSE policies, procedures, and ensure mitigating controls remain suitable and sufficient.
Develop and promote an effective HSSE incident response capability in conjunction with all relevant stakeholders.
Support investigation of incidents/accidents to identify root cause and contributing factors, to address corrective actions and prevent further occurrence in the future.
Monitor the waste management system at the site and assist in complying with regulatory requirements, suggesting and recommending any enhancement of the system.
Support HSSE internal and external audits, ensuring closure of observations and non-conformities raised during the audits.
Represent Technical at the QR Insider Threat Working Group.
Represent Technical HSSE needs during any modification of the existing technical facilities and for any new construction.
