Job Summary

The AIM (Aeronautical Information Management) Planning Production Control Specialist is responsible for providing operational support for AIM production by determining, planning, and scheduling the production activities and control and managing the work going to suppliers, tracking production progress, and ensuring effective completion of work.

The role supports the allocation of all production tasks in AIM and establishes timeframes in line with guidelines, processes, and procedures of each of the AIM units. The job is responsible for understanding the workflow and interrelationship with AIM Units including Data Collection, Instrument Flight Procedure Design, Land Use, Product Assembly, Flight Operations, Customer and Stakeholders Relations and Engineering to effectively plan the work schedules while efficiently addressing client’s needs, safety issues, maintenance, special projects, emergencies in accordance with regulatory requirements. The position is required to monitor, track and report on production progress in relation to intended production targets.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Plans production activity and control, determines what production tasks will be effectively completed periodically and promptly Identifies and provides production/project requirements to AIM Service Delivery while ensuring ISO compliance.
  • Works with AIM Production Planning Supervisor, AIM Service Delivery, Suppliers, and other internal and external stakeholders to manage overall AIM production through proper governance around supply and demand.
  • Creates reports on how production is progressing and provides metrics to management and staff and collects, analyses, and maintains customer satisfaction data and metrics.
  • Provides reports and metrics regarding the development and maintenance of multi-level key performance indicators (KPI) that are used at all levels of management and leads working groups as required to effect change (metrics, process change, KPI, workflow).
  • Coordinates internal (NAV CANADA) submissions to AIM and ensures submissions are properly assessed to avoid publication delays and subsequent operational and/or financial impacts to the company.
  • Provides support for major project management and works with stakeholders and departments to ensure that projects are delivered on time.
  • Builds positive and productive relationships with clients/ stakeholder and customers.
  • Leads meetings with various stakeholders, including providing status updates.
  • Maintains, tracks, and provides analysis of various inventories, queries, and requests. Liaises with various internal and external stakeholders including suppliers to maintain the inventory database(s).
  • Responsible for developing, coaching, and mentoring staff.

Job Requirements

Education:

  • College or University Degree in Business Management, Business Administration or related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Experience:

  • Experience in capacity planning and scheduling workloads across cycle, quarterly, and annual timelines.
  • Experience in using Microsoft Excel.

Knowledge:

  • Subject matter experts in capacity, scheduling, workflow, and key performance indicators (KPI).
  • Strong knowledge in industry methods and best practices in planning, production scheduling, staff scheduling and workflow.
  • Knowledge of load balancing methods and practices to ensure work groups and suppliers are not overloaded.
  • Intermediate Office Suite, including advanced Excel (ex. Pivot tables, pivot charts and reference formulas).

Abilities:

  • Ability to manage spreadsheets, analyze data, interpret data, identify, and resolve complex problems in a technical environment with effective report writing skills.
  • Strong written, oral communication and presentation skills with the ability to clearly. communicate complex messages to a variety of audiences, internal and external to AIM and NAV CANADA, including senior management.
  • Ability to lead meetings with various stakeholders.
